Tell us about your previous experience?

I started my professional career in 2017 at World Phone, an internet solutions provider. Prior to this, I also did a two-month internship with Ricoh India Limited while pursuing MBA. This internship was my first step to learn about marketing and its principles by getting exposed to a variety of marketing opportunities. This made me realise that I have a knack for it. In 2018, I joined the branding team at The Times of India, where I performed market research to identify target markets and assess consumer perceptions, competition, business trends, and product value. Later, I joined an apparel brand, Red Tape as an assistant brand manager. My role at Red Tape has helped me to comprehend the planning and execution of all communications and media channels, including social media platforms, media planning and budgeting, managing all advertising and promotional activities, analysing the company’s brand positioning, and gaining consumer insights.

How is the typical day at Skyview by Empyrean?

I start by discussing the tasks that need to be completed in line with the weekly marketing update that the team shares with the management. I check our social media page to monitor the daily growth in the number of followers as well as stories and post insights. I also check the monthly social media calendar to ensure that it is being followed properly. Discussing the stories that need to be posted in line with the ongoing offers/promotions is also a major part of my day. I outline the design requirements, communication, and deadlines for creatives, this is of primary importance while managing my day. I also work closely with the PR agency and have detailed discussions on upcoming advertisements and media coverages.

What do you do in your free time?

I like keeping abreast of the adventure tourism trends in India and the preferences of our target market, as adventure tourism is witnessing impressive growth in India and the number of people who are interested in having offbeat experiences is rising. In my free time, I also read about the ropeways and their future as a mode of public transportation in India. I stay updated about the marketing strategies of other lifestyle and adventure destinations.
