A man with a rich history in hospitality and engineering, Mr Makhmoor Ahmad Qadri is the Chief Engineer for Project and Operations at Skyview by Empyrean. Mr Makhmoor Ahmad Qadri has over 16 years of work experience, having worked for more than 12 years in the hospitality sector and 4 years as an engineer in the MVP and production sector before joining Skyview by Empyrean. He is a hard worker who puts his heart into all that he does, with a strong commitment to excellence. His dedication to quality is well recognized in the hospitality industry, and his ability to build meaningful relationships with his team members makes him a dynamic leader. In this interview, he shares some insights about his role and his thoughts about the future of Skyview by Empyrean.

What is your role at Skyview by Empyrean?

I am the Chief Engineer of the Engineering and Infrastructure Department at Skyview by Empyrean. I oversee daily engineering operations, maintenance and upgradation of assets, and completion of new engineering projects. My responsibilities include everything from maintaining our equipment to completing complex construction projects on site. My day-to-day role is varied but includes: analyzing project costs, developing budgets/schedules for capital improvement or renovation work, providing technical expertise in design review meetings with other engineers on site; coordinating information exchange between contractors and subcontractors during construction phases; managing a variety of personnel including engineers, drafters, and the construction crew.

How long have you worked in the hospitality sector?

I have over 16 years of work experience, of which 12 years have been served in the hospitality sector. I have worked for renowned organizations like Emirates Macaroni Factory in Dubai, JEET LLC in Dubai, Hotel Corporation of India in Srinagar, Khyber Resorts in Gulmarg, and the Carlson Rezidor Group in India.

What do you like most about your job at Skyview by Empyrean?

How do you like to spend your time when you are not working?

Whenever possible, I try to spend quality time with my family, which includes my mother, wife, two brothers, and two sisters. I also ensure that I spend time with my team outside of working hours. We play cricket together, watch movies, chat about our lives, or simply go for a trek. This ensures that I am able to build deep relationships with my colleagues and understand their needs and priorities. I like to give them responsibilities and back them fully for any project they wish to undertake. It’s possible because of the trust we have established by getting to know each other better.
